Nordisk bok om tsunamikatastrofen
The Tsunami disaster affected public communication patterns and practices in countries like Finland and Sweden. The communicative relations between government actors, media and citizens do always make significant contributions to the development of crucial democratic values such as trust, accountability and legitimacy. However, it is also reasonable to believe that these values are less easy to maintain when public communication is under hard pressure, as is mostly the case during serious crises situations. Thus, the tsunami disaster proves to be a case where the effects of stress within the public communication system would be very relevant to analyze and discuss.
