Registration and Introduction activities

The autumn term 2010 starts Monday August 30, but there will be introduction activities and registration the week before. We know that the first couple of days as an International student can be confusing which is why we offer, during the first weeks, some orientation activities that will help you get settled in. Registration will take place at the department at which you are going to study. Please plan your trip in such a way that you will be able to participate in this meeting. Survival Guide for International Students

Your Accommodation in Sweden

Housing choices vary from campus to campus, but all student accommodation in Sweden is generally of a high standard. As an admitted international student at Mid Sweden University you can easily book a room on your own, by sending an e-mail to the proprietor of your choice. Travelling to Sweden and to Mid Sweden University

When you arrive in Sweden and at Mid Sweden University, you will have to arrange quite a few practicalities. To make your arrival as easy as possible we recommend you to arrive in Sweden and to your campus city during “business hours”, Monday to Friday 10.00 - 16.00. The capital of Sweden is Stockholm and most international flights arrive at the Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, just north of Stockholm. There are of course different ways to get to Sweden and to Mid Sweden University. For some suggestions please visit www.miun.se/travelling

 

Visa and Residence Permit

Please note that you as an international student may have to apply for a Visa or a Residence Permit to be allowed to study in Sweden. For detailed information about how to obtain a Visa or residence permit, contact your nearest embassy or consulate.  Please note that Mid Sweden University is not involved in the processing of residence permit applications and therefore can not answer any questions regarding this process. Detailed information can also be found at www.migrationsverket.se. Please note that the notification of selection results recieved on studera.nu is a valid letter of acceptance and can be submitted with your visa application. You only have to print it from studera.nu.   


After arrival

When you have arrived in Sweden and at Mid Sweden University, you will have to arrange a few practicalities at Campus. Under the heading”New Student” you’ll find information with regards to your study time at Mid Sweden University. For example information regarding the student intranet "Studentportalen", on-line learning platforms, key-cards, the library, student union fees and more. Information is found here>>
