“Is it true that teachers are called by their first names?”
In the end of 2010, Mid Sweden University (Miun) went on a “Road show” to German universities. A competition was set up to learn students about Mid Sweden University and its English programs. "Win a trip" was the motto. The six most motivated German students got the opportunity to experience two of our campuses in a two-day trip.
Get an impression about how it is to discover Mid Sweden University!

Our visitors got the right equipment to feel like a real student of Miun.

They got to see the lecture-rooms that are furnitured with comfortable seating and the latest technology.

The frozen lake Storsjön in Östersund convinced of beautiful campus surroundings.

Tasting reindeer and typical fish of the Jämtland county convinced of the Swedish cooking. Meeting international students from Miun made the stay feel real.
At the end of their stay our visitors concluded that compared to German universities Mid Sweden University is equipped with the latest technologies. Here the emphasis is on practical learning, group work and business cooperations. The lecturers and professors are called by their first names what contributes to an informal and relaxed learning atmosphere. The students were also impressed of both campuses. In Sundsvall they were fond of the open architecture and the gangways under and among the houses, in Östersund they couldn't believe that in winter time the campus has its own ski track and its own ice skating rink. The nature the campuses are embedded in convinced them that studying at MIUN has to be an adventure.
