Motivations

The increasing utilization of sensor and user information in services on the Internet has raised serious concerns related to privacy, security and trust in a wide range of scenarios involving industrial processes, environmental sensing, as well as mobile consumer multimedia applications in online communities.

Research Focus

The research focuses on specific security, privacy, and trust related issues related to the design of network systems, such as: security support for wireless sensor networks, sensor data aggregation processes, as well as sensor-based services.

MediaSense – Interactive multimedia services focusing on user needs and utility on top of a technology platform combining multimedia distribution, sensor & user information, service control via fixed and mobile infrastructure, also addressing business models.
