Delegation from Huawei Sweden visits STC Research Centre

On March 26th, the STC Research Center had the privilege of hosting a delegation from Huawei Sweden with Peter Lundin, Vice-president Huawei Sweden, and Ma Shougui, president of Huawei R&D, Sweden.

On March 26th, the STC Research Center had the privilege of hosting a delegation from Huawei Sweden - Peter Lundin, Vice-president Huawei Sweden, and Ma Shougui, president of Huawei R&D, Sweden. The purpose of the visit was to underscore the critical nexus between education, research, and industry innovation in shaping the future landscape of ICT, particularly in anticipation of 6G technology. Peter Lundin delivered a presentation outlining Huawei’s multifaceted approach to supporting educational and research activities, both nationally in Sweden and on a global scale. They shared insights into their collaborative endeavors with universities and research institutions in Sweden, emphasizing initiatives aimed at attracting students to the ICT field and fostering a culture of innovation ensuring the future competitiveness of Sweden's ICT sector.

As part of the visit, the delegation went on a guided tour of the STC Research Center campus, gaining insights into the facilities and research infrastructure. They visited several labs within the center, where they witnessed research in wireless communication, artificial intelligence (AI), and sensing technologies. Following the tour, the delegation received a more detailed presentation on the ongoing research initiatives within the STC Research Center, focusing on wireless communication, AI, and sensing. The presentations offered a comprehensive overview of the center's contributions to advancing these key areas of research, highlighting their potential implications for future technological developments, including the evolution of 6G networks.

The visit served as a testament to the importance of collaboration between academia, industry, and government in driving technological innovation and talent development and the discussions with Huawei will continue in the future. Mid Sweden University is actively seeking discussions with Swedish industry to gain insights into future educational and research needs.
