Psychology ranges through its various theoretical approaches across different scientific perspectives and ideals. The ambition is both to understand, describe and explain people's thoughts, feelings and behavior. Basic areas of the subject include cognitive psychology, social psychology, learning psychology, developmental psychology and clinical psychology.
The subject psychology at Mid Sweden University is located at the Department of Social Sciences at Campus Östersund and our courses are given either as pure campus courses, as "distance adapated" courses (with some course meetnings on campus), or in some cases as web-based distance learning courses.
A strong link is made between the research at our divison and our teaching at different levels.
