Checklist

Checklist for applications for admission to doctoral studies

All documents must be included:

  • Application
  • Individual study plan
  • Financing
  • Advertisement
  • List of applicants
  • Preferably (not required) a justification for why the applicant was chosen.
  • Certified grade documents (degree certificate or certificate of courses, certificate from the subject coordinator, if applicable). The application is signed by the doctoral student, supervisor, head of department and responsible for the planning area.
  • The stated funding must be correct, and in the case of externally employed doctoral students, an agreement must be attached.
  • The degree to which the doctoral student is admitted (doctor or licentiate) must correspond between the application, advertisement, funding and draft study plan.

If admission is to be made towards a degree:

  • If courses are to be transferred, a separate Ladok transcript (or equivalent) must be attached so that it is clear that they are not included in the degree. The scope and level must be clear.

If admission is to be made on the basis of credits:

  • Certificate from the head of subject that the doctoral student meets the requirements.
  • The applicant must have at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 credits are at advanced level. In addition, the applicant must have at least 90 credits in a relevant subject.
  • Excerpt from Ladok or equivalent documentation. The scope and level of the courses must be stated.
  • The advertisement must contain correct information about eligibility and whether the position is for a doctor or licentiate degree.
  • A mentor must be proposed.
  • The principal supervisor must be a permanently employed associate professor or professor
