Forskningsområden

På en övergripande nivå handlar min forskning om demokratin och den politiska kommunikationen mellan politiska makthavare, medier och medborgare. Inom ramen för detta fokuserar jag särskilt på mediernas bevakning av politik och samhälle; politikens medialisering; den strategiska politiska kommunikationen; och mediernas inflytande och effekter i opinionsbildningen. 

En viktig del av min forskning är att jämföra den politiska kommunikationen i olika länder. Totalt har jag publicerat mer än 100 böcker, bok-kapitel och internationella tidskriftsartiklar som på olika sätt undersöker och analyserar den politiska kommunikationen.

Jag har tidigare varit gästforskare vid University of Florida, USA och University of Zurich, Schweiz. Under 2012-2013 arbetade jag som huvudsekreterare och kanslichef för regeringens Framtidskommission.
