Nenneh Näslund Sandström and Sid Lundgren recently completed their five-week internship at SCA. The students, who are in year III and studying marketing and business development, have, among other things, conducted a competitor analysis during their time at the company.

"It's important that students get out into the real world and see how they work there, and for us as a company, it's important to contribute to that experience by offering internships," says Maria Nyberg, Head of Recruitment at SCA and Nenneh and Sid's supervisor.
"  Many academics will work in offices in the future, so I think it's useful for them to see where production takes place in a company, and also meet the people who work there.

The internship has taken place within the framework of the business cooperation in the CER network. During their time at SCA, Sid and Nenneh have had the opportunity to make study visits to Östrand's pulp mill, Bogrundet's nursery and to a logging operation. They have also taken a closer look at how other large companies in Sweden market their employer brand to a younger target group, mainly recent graduates. And compared this with how SCA does. They have also linked the empirical data to marketing theory.

"During my time, I have had the opportunity to work with a competitor analysis in employer branding, which has given me a completely new understanding of how companies position themselves as employers, especially in a B2B context," says Nenneh, who is supported by Sid:
"This has been an incredibly valuable and inspiring experience. It's not just about communicating a brand, it's about really capturing and conveying the people, culture and commitment that make SCA unique as an employer. It is both developing and meaningful to be involved in shaping how the business is perceived and at the same time to help more people open their eyes to everything that makes SCA the company that it is.
