Internships at SBC give students valuable experience – and contribute new ideas to the business
Economics students Hevin Abdullah and Lowisa Wermelin are out on their five-week internship at SBC. The students who are in year III and study the specialisation in accounting and finance, get to work with, among other things, producing annual budgets for some of SBC's tenant-owner associations.
The internship is carried out within the framework of the CER network, and Frida Rodin, who is office manager for SBC in Sundsvall, says that they see the internship as a mutual exchange.
"The students gain valuable experience and an insight into working life, while we get input that helps us develop both our working methods and our services going forward.
She goes on to say that the students' internship work has given SBC valuable input both in terms of working methods and the company's development opportunities.
"It's useful to bring in new perspectives and people who look at our processes with fresh eyes. They contribute with energy, curiosity and new perspectives. In this case, the students have also contributed to our work with multi-year budgets, a service that can create great benefit for our associations in a situation where long-term financial planning has become increasingly important.
