About Euroflections
The next European elections take place on 23-26 May 2019 in all the member states. Now researchers in Europe team up to analyse and reflect on the elections in a new report. The report gathers 60 contributions from leading academics and will cover the elections and the campaigns.
With this project we want to give academic research a platform to quickly and objectively analyze the European elections 2019 and give researchers more space in the public debate. > Elections are usually filled with conflicting claims and profound interpretations from politicians, journalists, influencers and other types of opinion makers. Academic research on elections usually take longer time to be published and thus have a hard time to engage with the swift public debate. The gap between the public debate and the academia is sometimes experienced as too wide. Therefore, we have gathered a large number of leading researchers in this unique project. Three weeks after the election, we publish a report with results, analyzes and reflections from researchers with different expertise. Every researcher writes a page that focuses on parties, political issues, election campaign, news media, voters, social media, fake news or other topical issues from the European elections. The report Euroflections - Leading Academics on the European elections 2019 will be available here as a free digital report published by the research center DEMICOM at Mid Sweden University with undersigned researchers as editors.
