This project examines the role of the cultural and creative industries in achieving a more sustainable future in the context of Agenda 2030.
This project is both local and global, and is anchored around Östersund’s membership in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN). Specifically, we are looking at ways that city’s use their membership in the UCCN (or similar networks) to implement Agenda 2030. This is a collaborative research area that involves several environments at MIUN as well as a number of other partners in other countries. The project is currently funded through the partnership agreement between the City of Östersund and Mid Sweden University, and several applications for external funding have been submitted and are currently under review.
