Researchers participate in the event International Week in Vienna
Mikael Bäckström, Lars-Erik Rännar and Andrey Koptyug from the Sports Tech Research Center participated as Sweden's representatives in the annual International Week event that took place in the Austrian capital at the end of May.
International Week has been organised by UAS Technikum Wien for a number of years now. The main purpose is to connect universities and collaborative partners in various research projects and educational programs. This year's meeting was attended by 46 participants from countries such as the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, France, Portugal, Sweden, Finland, Mongolia, the USA, Brazil and Argentina.

This year's event focused on sustainability aspects in both research and educational contexts, where the participants interacted through lectures and in smaller discussion groups. Lars-Erik Rännar talked about our new master's programme in additive manufacturing and Mikael Bäckström and Andrey Koptyug presented the research at Sports Tech Research Centre. Discussions regarding the collaboration with the Master by Research programme progressed, as did supervision and collaboration with our PhD student Otto Hofstätter, based in Vienna.

The participation at the event is primarily about strengthening relations with UAS Technikum Wien and other stakeholders regarding cooperation issues in both research and educational provision, which goes hand in hand with Mid Sweden University’s overall internationalization work.
