For a year, Camille Favier from the south of France has been studying a master's programme at Mid Sweden University. She brings home a new way of thinking about study plans – and a longing for the sun.

Camille has just presented her degree project in additive manufacturing where she has focused on the development of a verification process for the beam at E-PBF (Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion). In a few weeks, she will leave Sweden to return to France.

The year at a Swedish university has been very different from what it is like at home, she says.

"In France, we have a lot of rules about how we should organise schoolwork, how we should practically work with assignments or go to classes. Here it is very free and you can organize as you want.

It is therefore important to know how best to organize your time.

" One tip is to learn how, for example, it works at the library and what study tools are available, so that you can enjoy your free time and take the opportunity to travel around and see a little while you're here.

Long nights, cold and a lot of snow have characterized large parts of Camille's time in northern Sweden.

"I should have been prepared for that, of course," she says, laughing a little and continuing:

"Now I'm starting to long for the sun, and I'm going home to look for a job.
