STC research center searches a postdoctoral researcher in "In-Sensor processing" within the research project SMART (Smart systems and services). At STC nearly 80 researchers operates with research on sensor-based systems and Internet of Things in electronics and computer science.

The research center STC - Sensible Things that Communicate, announces open positions for the SMART project – Smart systems and services. The research will be conducted in collaboration with industrial partners in a larger project that integrates the technology challenges within the field of smart systems and services in the application areas of smart cities, large area surveillance and efficient production. The research will be conducted in the research group Visual Sensor Systems (VSS). You will actively collaborate with other researchers within SMART but also with the researchers of the department.

Duties:

The research project gives you the opportunity to work together in a larger research group that connects challenges within "in-sensor processing" with various applications in sensor systems. Challenges that the position can have a focus on include optimization of embedded computing architectures or distributed computational architectures. A large part of the applications that we focus on are in the area of embedded vision systems.

In the postdoc position, you will work to develop, optimize and characterize embedded systems and/ or distributed embedded systems.

Employment: One year full-time employment, possible extension for another year.

Location: Sundsvall

Starting date: Subject to agreement.

Salary: Individually negotiated salary

Desired skills and experience

Required qualifications and selection criteria: To qualify for an employment as a postdoctor, the applicant must hold a PhD degree or a foreign qualification deemed equivalent to a PhD and the PhD degree must have been obtained no more than three years prior to the application due date; however, for example, periods of sick leave or parental leave can be deducted from the three-year period.

For this position, it is required to have a PhD in electronics, electrical engineering or computer science with a specialization in embedded systems, electronic system design, sensor networks and cyber-physical systems.
