Rikard Hamrin ‑ new colleague at STC
We would like to welcome our new colleague Mr. Rikard Hamrin to STC. Mr. Hamrin will be working as a reasearch engineer within the research project SMART, where he will work both with the making/testing of the prototypes/demonstrators and as a coordinator for the work.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?
My name is Rikard Hamrin, and I'm 40 years old. I live in Vattjom, Matfors, with my wife and two kids (boys, 5 and 7 years old). I have always been interested in electronics and mechanics and that interest in electronics brought me to Systemteknikprogrammet here at Mid Sweden University.
I have since worked at various companies for fifteen years mainly within software development and process automation. In 2011 I started working for Valmet where I built process simulators for operator training, advanced process control for chemical pulping and later also as a project manager for simulator/APC projects.
My spare time nowadays revolves around my family, 3D printing, electronics, gaming and more. So when the job as a research engineer came up here at Mid sweden University it felt like a really god fit and I just had to apply for it.
What you are going to do, within SMART?
I will be working for STC within the SMART project both with the making/testing of the prototypes/demonstrators and as a coordinator for the work. Since I started I have been working mainly with the LoRa network and the waste water overflow sensor. This work seems really diverse and stimulating, which I like a lot.
