Guest lecture with Prof. Mustafa Arafa from the American University in Cairo
In September, Mid Sweden University got a visit from Prof. Mustafa Arafa from the American University in Cairo. This visit is an activity in a new collaboration funded by STINT – The Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education.
During his visit in Sundsvall, Mustafa gave a highly appreciated guest lecture on vibration energy harvesting for students and researchers at Mid Sweden University. In his talk he presented challenges and applications in harvesting from mechanical vibrations using piezoelectric, electromagnetic and triboelectric devices. Based on research efforts conducted at the American University in Cairo, Egypt.
Moreover, the visit allowed for detailed discussions about similarities and differences between the Swedish and Egyptian research and education systems, and several collaboration opportunities have been identified.
As a next step, researches from the STC Research Centre will visit the American University in Cairo in November.
