Research to improve crane operations

Researchers at STC are working together with MacGregor to solve the synchronization puzzle for efficient cargo handling between port and ship.
MacGregor develop and manufacture ship based cranes, and have started the development of autonomous crane operation, which opens up several challenges that needs to be researched on.
On Tuesday 24:nd of October, Irida Shallari, Seyed Jalaleddin Mousavirad and Mattias O'Nils did measurements for characterization at MacGregors test site for autonomous crane operation. The target is to demonstrate efficient solutions that handle the synchronization between port and ship during loading/unloading of cargo.
This is a part of the research project NIIT.
