Seminar provided insight into AI for growth in Östersund
On Wednesday 24 May, a seminar on AI for growth was arranged in Östersund, where experts discussed the role of AI in everyday life and the business world. With engaging presentations and panel discussions, both the potential and challenges of AI to create business opportunities and social development.
On Wednesday, May 24, a fully attended seminar on Artificial Intelligence and its potential for growth in Östersund was held. The event attracted a diverse audience and facilitated in-depth discussions on the role of AI in everyday life and the business world.
The seminar began with a presentation by Daniel Adelander from Pro&Pro, who discussed "AI in Everyday Life." Daniel shared his knowledge on how AI can be integrated into our daily lives and the opportunities it creates for society.
Next, Marcus Strömsten from Höga Kusten Destinationsutveckling took the stage and shared their successful implementation of the chatbot Vilja to assist Höga Kusten tourism services. He elaborated on the background behind their decision to use the chatbot, the challenges they encountered, and the positive effects it has had on their operations.
Furthermore, Mattias O'Nils, professor at Mid Sweden University and head of STC Research Centre, presented on the university's AI research and industrial collaborations. He provided insights into the latest advancements in AI research and emphasized the importance of collaboration between academia, businesses, and society to drive innovation forward. His key message was to have well-organized data and embrace experimentation.
Pär Segerström from Media Research in Östersund, a new partner of Mid Sweden University, spoke about how AI creates new business opportunities for the company. He emphasized the significance of finding the right collaborative partners during AI development and expressed how the partnership with the university exceeded his expectations.
Following these inspiring presentations, a panel discussion focused on how AI can foster growth in Östersund. The panel consisted of Bengt Myhrman, an entrepreneur and investor, Amelie Rahbek, the process leader for "Digital Solutions" in the Jämtland Härjedalen Region, Mona Swartling, the office manager at Sopra Steria, and Mattias O'Nils from Mid Sweden University. The panel discussion, moderated by Lars Oscarsson from Bron Innovation, engaged the audience in a lively conversation about the possibilities and challenges of AI in the region.
Finally, a brief conclusion and networking session were held, providing participants with an opportunity to network and continue the discussions initiated during the seminar.
