Mattias O'Nils, head of STC, spoke about data‑driven development at Elmia
During Elmia Production Fairs on 14-16 May, Prof. Mattias O'Nils was invited to give a presentation on collaboration to accelerate companies' data-driven development. He shared examples of how Mid Sweden University and partner companies create new business and products through data-driven methods.
On 14-16 May, Elmia Production Fairs were arranged where 6 different fairs came together. They were Elmia Automation, Elmia Verktygsmaskiner, Elmia Polymer, Elmia Svets och Fogningsteknik, Elmia Plåt och Elmia 3D. The theme for this year's fair was Smart, sustainable and adaptable industry and on that theme, Prof. Mattias O'Nils, head of STC Research Centre, was invited as a speaker on the main stage.
The title of Mattias' presentation was "Collaboration to accelerate companies' data-driven development". In his presentation, he highlighted various examples of how Mid Sweden University collaborates with partner companies to develop data-driven methods that can create new business, services and products for companies. A successful example of collaboration that was highlighted is where companies have employed industrial doctoral students who have become their own AI experts.
Elmia's production fairs attracted a record number of exhibitors this year, and 14,000 visitors were estimated during the four days of the fair. At the various fairs, industry-leading exhibitors showed machines in operation and other concrete examples. On the main stage, a packed program of cross-industry lectures was offered.
