New crises and new media
This project aims to investigate how the development of new digital media affects the way authorities communicate in the event of a crisis.
The increased use of social media means information and news spread more quickly than ever; for effective crisis communication, these are great challenges.
Three studies will be carried out as part of the project: a systematic international research overview of the field, a study of media reports on digital platforms, and a study of communicative leadership during crises.
The project is carried out in collaboration with a research group at the University of Maryland, led by Dr. Brooke Liu.
