Researchers at Mid Sweden University’s FSCN research centre have succeeded in devising a stronger, more moistureresistant paper, with reduced energy consumption as an added bonus. It is now hoped that this paper can soon replace plastic in several areas.

Bruno received his PhD in Macromolecular Chemistry in 2009 at University of Coimbra under supervision of Ulf Olsson from Lund University and Maria da Graça Miguel from University of Coimbra. He held a postdoctoral fellowship at University of Algarve between 2011 and 2015 before his current position as an assistant researcher. He has also been working at Wellington University in New Zeeland, University of Paderborn, Germany, Karlstad University and Swerea IVF as a guest researcher. Dr. Medronho has been doing research on cellulose utilization in several larger EU projects together with industrial partners like for instance IKEA, H&M, Kiram and Södra Cell.

He will be positioned as international guest professor at Mid Sweden University for two years. We wish him welcome and hope he will enjoy working with us!
