New crises and new media
The project aims to investigate how digital media development affects the conditions for the authorities' communication in connection with crises. Above all, the increased use of social media and the ever-faster pace of information and news dissemination present major challenges for effective crisis communication.
The project contains three different sub-studies: a systematic international research overview in the field, a study of media reporting on digital platforms and a study of communicative leadership in crises. The project is carried out in collaboration with research teams from the University of Maryland, led by Dr. Brooke Liu.
