The terrorist attacks in Swedish media
The purpose of the study is to investigate and compare what distinguished the reporting of the three terrorist attacks in Europe - Copenhagen and Paris 2015 and Brussels 2016 - in leading Swedish news media.
Issues that are specifically examined are the media images of terrorist threats against Sweden, the Swedish preparedness for similar attacks and possible implications for Swedish politics in foreign, defense and migration policy. The investigation is conducted as a quantitative content analysis of all news material about the three terrorist attacks on Aftonbladet, Dagens Nyheters, Expressens and Svenska Dagbladet news sites for the first five days after each event. News reporting in SVT will also be analyzed.
