Collaboration and collaboration continue ‑ testing of service is the next step
The project's researchers Kristin Godtman Kling and Magnus Zingmark have continued their collaboration with municipalities, the voluntary sector and private companies to learn more about how different activities can work with outdoor activities aimed at older adults.
During the spring, Kristin Godtman Kling and Magnus Zingmark have continued to establish contacts with various businesses in Härnösand municipality. In March, a first meeting was held with tourism entrepreneurs, representatives from the municipality and a pensioners' organization. For example, it discussed the role of the voluntary sector, public and private organisations in promoting outdoor activities among older adults in terms of services and activities for outdoor activities, places where outdoor activities are organised and who the participants are in these activities.
In particular, the role of the private sector in organizing and offering services for older adults was discussed, and how this sector views the target group as a customer group. The next step is for the researchers to carry out a test of an outdoor activity in early autumn in collaboration with tourism entrepreneurs and older adults in the municipality, to investigate what such a service could look like.
Equal for everyone?
In Östersund, the researchers have seen that many things work well to promote outdoor activities among older adults, but that there are "gaps" between sectors.
- For example, based on our preliminary results, we have asked ourselves whether the pensioners' associations' outdoor activities are primarily aimed at those who are alert and fast, whether the municipality's meeting places can offer more physically challenging outdoor activities and whether the private sector is interested in offering activities and services specifically adapted to the wishes of older adults l. With this autumn's sub-studies in Härnösand, we hope to gain in-depth knowledge of these issues, says Kristin Godtman Kling.
