Rosemarie Ankre presented at a conference
On 23 May, Rosemarie Ankre participated in the conference "Everyday nature – a resource for good and equal health". She gave a presentation on active and healthy ageing, with an emphasis on collaboration and knowledge to promote accessible natural environments and outdoor activities for older people.
The conference "Everyday nature – a resource for good and equal health" was organized by the County Administrative Board of Norrbotten and gathered about forty participants who shared current research and good examples with each other. After the presentations, a reflection was held by the County Governor and a panel discussion with those who had presented, followed by a think tank.
Rosemarie Ankre, researcher in the project, gave a presentation on active and healthy ageing, with an emphasis on collaboration and knowledge to promote accessible natural environments and outdoor activities for older people. Among the participants were researchers from Luleå University of Technology, accessibility consultants, representatives from Friluftsfrämjandet and Region Skåne.
The conference particularly highlighted the challenges of urban nature and densification, the importance of proximity to everyday nature also in northern Sweden, and the prevailing ill health in Sweden's population. An interesting project that was highlighted was "Nature on prescription", which has been run by the County Administrative Board of Norrbotten.
We look forward to continuing to follow developments in this important area and thank Rosemarie for her commitment and contribution during the conference.
