Changes in the library's opening hours and services
In 2024, there will be changes to the library's opening hours. This is preliminary information about what will happen, as all the details are not yet finalized. We will keep you updated through the news feed.
Due to budget constraints, the university library will transition in 2024 from having staffed service at the lending desk in the evenings and weekends to having unmanned opening hours after 4:00 PM and on Saturdays. This means that as a student or staff member, you will still have access to the library premises after 4:00 PM and from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturdays, but no library staff will be present to answer questions or assist. However, access to the premises will be extended until 8:00 PM on weekdays. More information on using the library during unmanned hours will be provided later. A tip is to obtain a Miun key tag if you haven't already, as it will likely be required to access the premises in the evenings and weekends.
According to the schedule, we will introduce unmanned evenings from the beginning of the spring semester in 2024, i.e., week 3. This means that during week 2, there will be a short transition period between our Christmas opening hours and the introduction of unmanned evenings. Therefore, the library will be open from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM during week 2. The schedule may, however, be subject to change.
Our preliminary future opening hours are as follows:
January 8–12: 8:30 AM–4:00 PM
Saturday, January 13: Closed
From January 15 onwards: Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–8:00 PM
Saturdays 11:00 AM–3:00 PM
Staffed service at the library: Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–4:00 PM
