WELCOME TO MID SWEDEN UNIVERSITY
A warm welcome to the course Sport Science MA, Testing Methods and Performance Analysis, 7.5 credits and as a student at Mid Sweden University.
This is the first course for you attending the full Masters program in Sports Science (Performance Optimisation with a Focus on Elite Sport). The course is in the week 36 – 45.

The course starts Tuesday the 3rd of September with a online lecture between 14:00-16:00. All online lectures will be given in Zoom: https://www.miun.se/en/student/service-and-support/digital-tools-for-students/zoom/
The campus meeting takes is week 42 and starts Tuesday the 15th at 10:00 and ends Thursday the 17th at 12:00.
Four weeks before the beginning of the course you will get access to your schedule www.miun.se/schemasok. Please note that the timetable may be updated until the beginning of the course and even after that if something unforeseen happens.
Before you can begin your studies, there are three things you need to do
1. Get a login for the student portal (Swedish: Studentportalen)
If you are an international student and admitted to a campus-based program, you will receive your User ID upon arrival at Mid Sweden University. All international students who are admitted to a distance education program, will receive their User ID by email approximately one week before course start.
This is your most important tool during your studies at Mid Sweden University. Here, you will find information about courses, study material etc. This is also where you register for each course. All of this can be found at www.miun.se/admitted.
If you have studied at Mid Sweden University before, you will keep the same student login and user id.
2. Read through the current course syllabus
In the course syllabus, there is information about the course literature and other important things about the course for both teachers and students.
3. Register for the course
You must register for all of the courses you want to take during the semester. https://www.miun.se/en/student/. You can register no earlier than 2 workdays before the beginning of the course. It is important that you register for each course. It is important that you register for each course.
The course is characterized by problem-based learning strategies. You as a student are supposed to use your own skills and knowledge. You who applied for the course have in many ways your own learning experience and knowledge in the field. It will give you the opportunity to see the links between learning goals, literature, tasks and the examination and to increase the knowledge in the field. The teaching methods will stimulate self-activity and individual and groups’ work and reflections on the learning content. The methods are supposed to provide a strong link between theory and practice in a whole.

In order to borrow at Mid Sweden University you need a library account. You get a library account when you activate your student portal login, register to a course and approve of the library lending rules.
