Accessibility statement
Here we describe how miun.se and associated websites comply with the law on accessibility to digital public services, any known accessibility problems and how you can report deficiencies to us so that we can fix them.
Mid Sweden University is behind this website. We want as many people as possible to be able to use the website.
We strive to ensure that Mid Sweden University's websites can be perceived, managed and understood by all users, regardless of, for example, disabilities and regardless of the aids they use. We must achieve at least basic accessibility by complying with WCAG 2.1 at level AA.
How accessible is the website?
We are aware that we are currently failing to meet all the requirements for accessibility to digital public services. We try to solve the problems because and make sure that you get the digital service you are entitled to.

Report shortcomings in the accessibility of the website
We are constantly striving to improve the accessibility of the website. If you notice problems that are not described on this page, or if you believe that we do not meet the requirements of the law, please let us know that the problem exists.

The Agency for Digital Government (DIGG) is responsible for supervising the Act on the Accessibility of Digital Public Services. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your comments, you can contact the Agency for Digital Government and complain about it.
Technical information about the accessibility of the website
This website is not fully compliant with the Act on Accessibility to Digital Public Services, i.e. level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Inaccessible parts are described below.
Non-accessible content
The content described below is not fully accessible in one way or another.
Non-compliance with legal requirements
At this time, we are aware that we have not been able to meet all the criteria of WCAG in the following areas:
- Links don't always have descriptive names
- Iframe elements require a non-empty attribute that identifies the frame.
- Document links and links to external pages do not always describe where they lead or that they open in a new window.
- The content, structure and functionality of PDF documents, for example, have not yet been reviewed in terms of accessibility. However, spot checks show problems with accessibility.
- Images in PDF documents may be missing or have incorrect text alternatives.
- Videos lack audio description
- Some PDF documents are not properly made (tagged) to work with screen readers.
- The reading order may be incorrect in PDF documents.
- Headings and heading levels are sometimes not used correctly, which can cause difficulties for both cognitive and visual users.
- Some images with meaningful content lack description.
- Some buttons and links with meaningful content do not always have a description
- Normally we don't use tables, but we do have a few tables to show frame schedules on some program pages. These are not fully available.
- Our podcasts do not have alternative formats such as printing the podcast

- Notifications are marked with only red color.
For those without vision
- Headings and heading levels are exceptionally not always used correctly, which can cause problems for screen readers.
- Some images with meaningful content lack description.
- Some pieces of text are written in a language other than the surrounding text, but are not marked for this in code, which causes problems for screen readers.
For those with impaired vision
- Headings and heading levels are not always used correctly, which can cause problems for screen readers.
For those with different colour vision

Notifications for mandatory form fields that lack text are only marked in red.
For those with no or no hearing impairments
- A number of films that need audio description lack this.
- A number of audio clips and podcasts lack transcription and audio description.
Incompatibility specific to www.miun.se
- The "Vacancies" pages are not fully accessible because the function is managed in a separate HR system that we cannot change ourselves
Videos on YouTube
We don't have any videos from YouTube uploaded to www.miun.se. However, we have linked to videos that are available on our YouTube account. We understand that some of the content on YouTube is not fully accessible, such as not all videos have caption alternatives. How we tested the website
