Aim

The aim of the course is to provide in-depth knowledge in the field of strategic communication within a chosen field of study.

Course objectives

After passing the course, the student should be able to:
- account for and evaluate theories and research results within the selected field of study
- critically review and relate practice cases in the selected field of study to theories and research
- based on theories and research, give recommendations for best practice in the chosen field of study

Content

The course deals with theories and research results within a selected field of study within strategic communication. The course provides an in-depth theoretical point of departure for practical work with strategic communication within the chosen field of study. Practice cases are compared with the scientific literature and models and recommendations for best practice are discussed.

Entry requirements

At least one year of successfully completed full-time study at university level including 30 credits in Media and Communication Science.

Selection rules and procedures

The selectionprocess is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.

Teaching form

The course format includes lectures, seminars and writing exercises that can be presented in different media forms.

Examination form

Course grades are based on written examination and active participation in seminars.

Grading system

The grades A, B, C, D, E, Fx and F are given on the course. On this scale the grades A through E represent pass levels, whereas Fx and F represent fail levels.

Ett urval av vetenskapliga artiklar (5-6) och läroböcker (1-2) inom det valda fördjupningsområdet väljs i samråd med kursansvarig lärare.

Other information

Literature is chosen in consultation with the responsible teacher and supervisor.
Any expenses for travel and materials are paid by the student. Plagiarism is not allowed and will result in the application being submitted to the Vice Chancellor.
