Application and Tuition fees
The Swedish parliament has passed a law outlining tuition and application fees that applies from the academic year 2011/2012.
Who is required to pay application and tuition fees?
Students from outside the European Union, European Economic Area and Switzerland are generally required to pay application and tuition fees to study at a university in Sweden.
Students who are registered at a university or university college outside of Sweden and will be studying in Sweden on a temporary basis as part of an official study abroad programme as an exchange student will not pay tuition fees to Mid Sweden University.
Application Fees
Citizens of countries outside EU, EEA or Switzerland are required to pay an application fee when applying for university studies in Sweden. However, students who are currently registered at a Swedish University are exempt from paying the application fee.
The application fee of 900 SEK (Swedish Kronor) is administrated by the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR) via the application portal universityadmissions.se.
Tuition Fees
For students studying a Bachelor or Master programme, the fee normally covers 30 credits per semester, 60 credits per year. For students studying individual courses, the tuition fee covers the number of credits in the course.
The tuition fee includes access to campus facilities such as computer labs, the library, study rooms and lecture halls. It also includes student services such as: study and career counselling, Student Health Center, disability services and other study administration. All fee paying students at Mid Sweden University are covered by the FAS+ Insurance issued under the authority of the Swedish Legal, Financial and Administrative Service Agency (Kammarkollegiet). The tuition fee does not include accommodation costs, course literature or living expenses etc.
The tuition fee cost varies depending on the course or programme. You can find the exakt amount of the tuition fee on each course or programme page when you click on "To application".
