Selection rules and procedures
The selection process is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.
Programme with restricted admissions
Apart from that which is stated in each respective curriculum there are no specific deterrents to prevent further studies in more advanced courses.
Teaching and examination
Studies are conducted on full-time basis and include lectures, seminars, laboratory sessions and project work as well as study visits/placements. Studies are problem based and of project directed nature.
Students learn to systematically, with the aid of theoretical skills, solve work assignments of increasing degrees of difficulty.
Active athletes have the opportunity to participate in the training programme with an individual study plan.

Degree of Bachelor of Arts/Science

translated into
Degree of Bachelor of Science with a major in Sport Science
Other information
Evaluation of the courses in the programme and the programme as a whole is in accordance with the rules and regulations for course evaluation established by Mid Sweden University.
Student influence in the programme is guaranteed according to the Higher Education Ordinance and local rules and regulations at Mid Sweden University.
Students have the opportunity to choose courses during the study period. How to accomplish this and the current choice of courses available will be announced during the course of the programme. Elective courses can be cancelled if there are too few applicants.
During the course of the studies the names of courses and course modules, contents and timing may be subjected to certain changes.
Decision on establishment
The programme syllabus was established by the Faculty’s Committee for Human Sciences on the 19th September, 2006.
The Sports Science Training Programme was established on the 15th October, 2004 by the Higher Education Board at Mid Sweden University. The programme syllabus was established
by the Committee for Basic Education in the field of Human Sciences on the 10th September, 2004 and revised on the 4th October, 2005.
The Swedish Agency for Education and Research has examined and approved the text regarding previous requirements, selection rules and degree title on the 6th July, 2004 and again on the 4th October, 2005.
The programme syllabus was adapted according to the Bologna Process on the 5th October, 2006 and replaces the programme coded VIDRK. The revision was approved by the Department’s Board on the 14th March, 2007.
