Course objectives
The student shall, after completion of the course, be able to:
- describe the task and architecture of an operating system, logic, the computer's hardware.
- describe the principles of network and data communications, and also how information is represented digitally.
- describe algorithms, data representation, programming languages, programming methodology.
- describe the different principles of data warehousing, data structures, file structures and databases.

Teaching form
The course begins with a mandatory activity, diagnostic test. You do it via a web interface. Address shown in welcome letter.
Teaching consists of approximately 16% of lectures and 16%, supervised laboratory work. Approximately 68% of the time are studies on your own: reading of literature, laboratory work and preparation, assignments, assessments and preparation for the exam. Changes in resources may give an altered distribution.

Other information
Those who do not perform the diagnostic test, W101, at latest during the third course week, will lose their place as we will register an "early break".
This course is the first of the entrance courses in Computer Engineering.
The course can not be included in the same degree as any of the courses with code DTAA83, DT013G, DT027G or DTEA25.
