Aim

The aim of this course is for students to aquire foundational knowledge of established and emerging photographic research methods.

Course objectives

After passing the course students will:
- be able to identify and apply established and emerging photographic research methods
- recognize what situations are best suited for using photographic research methods
- recognize ethical concerns when applying photographic research methods.

Content

The course deals with:
- Introduction to established research methods such as photo documentation, photo-elicitation, photo-voice and photo essay
- Introduction to the evolving field of photography as research.

The selection process is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.
