Aim
The aim of this course is for students to learn professional workflows and techniques for photo retouching and digital colour grading film.
Course objectives
After course completion the student shall be able to:
- discuss and critique images from a technical perspective
- explain pros and cons of different image file formats
- modify exposure and colour in an image
- work with digital editing software for photo and film
- identify and apply necessary image size, colour depth, resolution and compression for photo and film
- alter digital images for web and screen publishing.
Content
The course deals with:
- image editing
- file formats and colour space
- photo retouching/manipulation
- colour correction/grading
- dynamic range and Look-up-tables (LUTs)
