Aim
The course aims to deepen knowledge in coaching, leadership and organization with a focus on sports. Furthermore, the purpose is to provide a theoretical and practical knowledge of the use of behavioural models in the development of sporting achievement.
Course objectives
After completing the course the student should be able to:
- Develop and guide athletes appropriately for individual and group performance outcomes.
- Demonstrate applied knowledge of the importance of different psychological and social factors that affect athletes’ performance.
- Independently integrate and use knowledge of coaching, leadership and organization in sports
- Deal with complex phenomena and issues in coaching, leadership and organization in sports
- Develop an environment that requires independence of a coach, manager or trainer (association, federation / organization).

Entry requirements
Bachelor’s degree of minimum 180 credits (including a degree project of at least 15 credits or equivalent internationally recognised degree) in Sports Science, Physical Education, Physiotherapy, Medicine or Human Biology.

The selection process is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.
Teaching form
The teaching methods vary and include individual and group exercises. Examples of teaching methods include lectures, literature studies, seminars, workshops and practical exercises. Detailed information is given in the syllabus.
Examination form
The course is examined through an individual written assignment.
Grading system
Seven-grade scale, A, B, C, D, E, Fx and F. Fx and F represent fail levels.
