Aim
The course aims to give the students fundamental knowledge of primary theories on communication, problem resolution, and conflict resolution.
Course objectives
After finishing the course, the student is expected to be able to:
• account for various primary communication perspectives
• account for various kinds of conflicts
• describe and appraise different problem resolution and conflict resolution methods
• put a simple form of conflict resolution method into practice
Content
The content of the course is about identifying, analyzing and strategically handle problems and conflicts between individuals and groups in everyday life as well as in working life, but also to some extent large-scale conflicts, for example international conflicts. Practical moments where communication, problem resolution and conflict resolution are also included in the course in addition to the theoretical ground.

Selection rules and procedures
The selection process is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.
Teaching form
The course will consist of lectures, seminars and practical moments. Communication will also be internet-based, which requires access to a computer with an internet connection.
Examination form
There will be a written proctored examination at the end of the course.

Grading system
Seven-grade scale, A, B, C, D, E, Fx and F. Fx and F represent fail levels.
