Aim

The course will provide students with knowledge of basic areas of psychology such as the biological basis of behavior, cognition, perception, emotion, personality, social-psychological perspective, and psychology as a science.

Content

The course comprises the following parts:
. The fundamental functions of psychology and its biological basis, 7,5 credits
. Personality psychology, 7,5 credits
. Cognitive and behavior psychology, 7,5 credits
. Social psychology, 7,5 credits

The different parts highlight:
- Introduction to various theories of Psychology with an emphasis on biological
basis, perception and emotion, and an orientation on the relationship between psychological factors and its biological and physiological basis. Different personality psychology theories and applications and motivation. Introduction to cognition and behavior theoretical concepts and applied behavior analysis. Human interaction with their social environment, social cognition, attitudes and prejudice, group processes. Scientific research methods of psychology with emphasis on problem definition and research designs, as well as ethics and scientific writing.
