Aim
The overall aim with the course is that having completed the course, the students should be able to seek, gather, account for and critically review research and scientific literature within an area relevant for the subject Social work.
Course objectives
Having completed the course, students are expected to be able to:
- distinguish a problem area relevant to Social work
- know of and be able to seek and choose relevant, current research and scientific literature within a chosen problem area
- review and analyse chosen sources from an analytical and critical perspective
- differ between different kinds of references as well as to know of, seek and account for different publication types within the scientific publication system.
Content
The course contains
- exercises in distinguishing a problem area relevant to Social work
- exercises in accounting for and critically reviewing research and scientific literature within an area focusing on this problem area.

The selection process is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.
Teaching form
Mainly an individual, independent study course with an introductory lecture and individual supervision.

Individual written and/or oral examinations.
