LoRa environmental data measurements in Sundsvall
Whats the project about
To measure remotely environmental in an energy efficient way with communication interfaces to the internet is often the key for a successful IoT (internet of things) project. LoRa is an ideal solution for this. Environmental real-time data are sparsely available at Sundsvall and the surroundings. This project will help to understand the environment processes by collecting valuable information data and making them available over Webservices platforms.
More about the project
The project will implement a commercial (and/or already built) LoRa Hardware platform (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, ST etc.) with a defined set of sensors for measuring environmental data. Those data could be wind speed and wind direction, temperature, humidity, illuminance, rain, etc. The collected data will be integrated in an environmental and meteorological data network via LoRa. Those (mainly open) network Webservices will help to monitor and understand the environmental processes in Sundsvall.
Study areas
Essential basic qualification for participating in the project (at least two of them):
· Basic programming knowledge on embedded platforms (Python/C or other programming languages). Preferably basic knowledge with LoRa sensors and LoRa network.
· Basic understanding of environmental and meteorological processes and skills with working in a research mindset
· Basic Web Programming, Web Services configuration skills
And also students intrested in:
· Working in Teams and thinking out of the box
· CAD and 3D Printing
· Skills in marketing of innovation ideas
