Tips for a successful fair
In order for you to have a successful meeting with the companies and organizations that are participating in the fair, we recommend that you do some preparation beforehand. Below we have collected a number of tips to help you along the way.
1. Read up on the participating employers
On the page Employers participating in Mötesplats Campus, you can find a brief description of the companies and organizations participating at Mötesplats Campus, as well as links to their websites.
2. Prepare questions to ask the participating employers
After reading up on the companies, prepare some relevant questions to ask them. Perhaps you want to know more about what is written on their web page, or perhaps you have a question related to the education you are studying.
3. What type of job or collaboration you are looking for?
Be clear to employers which stage of your studies you are in, tell them which program and which year you are studying. Are you looking for a thesis collaboration, a part-time job or employment after your studies? Take this as your starting point when you talk to the employers.
4. Create/update your LinkedIn profile
Before Mötesplats Campus, it is good if you update your LinkedIn profile, or create one if you have not already done so. There are many good pages on the web that describe how to optimize your LinkedIn profile, the page How LinkedIn can help you as a student is one of these pages.
5. Bring your CV
If you feel more comfortable displaying your printed CV than your digital LinkedIn profile, do so. In that case, make sure that your CV is up-to-date, spelled correctly and directed towards the industry in which you want to apply for a job. On the Arbetsförmedlingen's page Writing a CV, there are free CV templates that you can use.
6. Be yourself but dare to stand out
During Mötesplats Campus, employers will talk to many students. If they are to remember something from meeting you, what should it be? Have you perhaps had a study job or a leisure activity that makes you stand out? Try to weave this into the conversation with the employers.
7. Network and make contacts
Looking for a job is usually a long and time-consuming process, but the more contacts you make, the greater the chance that you will land your dream job in the future. Keep networking!
Be curious, remember that the companies are here to meet you! Good luck!
