Sustainability work
Sustainable development is a central and important part of the overall strategy of Mid Sweden University.
The strategy states a number of goals that are related to sustainable development directly or indirectly, where the most direct goal specifies that Mid Sweden University should:
- Increase the integration of sustainable development in education, research and collaboration.
- Contribute to the UNs global goals for sustainable development and Agenda 2030, and thus also to a sustainable future.
- Reduce the organization's negative impact on the environment.
In addition, the strategy includes goals concerning interdisciplinary working methods, collaboration, digitization and technology-supported learning and work environment for employees and students, all of which are important parts of the work with sustainable development.

Mid Sweden University's climate strategy
As part of Mid Sweden University's work with sustainable development, the Rector has signed the Climate Framework, which is an agreement between higher education institutions in Sweden of a common approach to climate change and of reducing emissions. Based on the Climate Framework, Mid Sweden University developed a Climate strategy, and integrated measures to fulfil this strategy in the regular planning of the operations.
