For the autumn term in 2005, the number of applicants to the other Swedish universities increased by one per cent. For Mid Sweden University, the number increased by no less than 14 per cent!
– My guess is that our new status as a full university made us attractive to the students. In connection with the opening of the university, we did a launch campaign. We published special newspaper supplements, both regionally and nationally, and arranged open houses for the public on all our campuses, which received a lot of visitors. It gave us quite a lot of media attention, which undoubtedly had a positive effect on student recruitment, says Anna Ossung.
