Inaugural lecture: Circular economy – why is it important and why is it so difficult to achieve in practice?
Honorary Doctor Anders Kihl talks about his perspective on the connection between waste, resources and planetary boundaries and explains why it is so difficult to achieve circular solutions in reality.
Anders Kihl is Head of Strategy and Research at Ragn-Sells and has for many years worked with research and development issues in private companies, linked to the management of various types of waste and pollutants - an important research area at Mid Sweden University. Over the past decade, he has enabled and participated in a close collaboration with researchers at Mid Sweden University on how to breed insect larvae for the production of animal feed with biosludge from the paper and pulp industry, and thereby create value from toxic waste with a low energy content. Anders is genuinely interested in research and science and has actively encouraged research that aims to solve real societal challenges and that in one way or another can be valuable to society in the future.
