Inaugural lecture: Among duck‑bill pliers and dapping blocks
Honorary Doctor Kerstin Öhlin Lejonklou talks about selected parts of her six-decade-long career as a silversmith.
During fifty years as an artist and silversmith, Kerstin Öhlin Lejonklou has created jewellery with precise form and refined simplicity. Internationally recognised and honoured with the Prince Eugen Medal for outstanding artistic achievement, Öhlin Lejonklou has worked in Östersund since moving from Drottningholm in the early sixties. Kerstin recounts the journey from the building blocks of childhood to refined artistic explorations involving circles and cubes. The audience is invited to accompany her on a passage through silver, gold, and precious stones.
