Bakgrund

I was born in a small town in southern Brazil. In 2005 I graduated in Production Engineering from the University of São Paulo (Brazil), where I also completed a master's degree in Mathematics. In 2012, I obtained my PhD in Mathematics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. After my PhD and some postdocs, I worked as an assistant professor in Brazil for 10 years. In 2022, I moved to Sweden to work as a senior lecturer at Mid Sweden University. In 2024 I was promoted to Full Professor.

Forskningsområden

Singularity Theory, Complex Geometry, Real Analytic Geometry.

Forskning

My research focuses on the area of Singularity Theory. I am interested in the study of the geometry and topology of singular spaces, such as complex analytic spaces and real subanalytic sets. I look for invariants and handleable structures that help us understand and classify such objects. One approach is to look at non-singular spaces that degenerate into the singular one. Another approach is to study how these singular spaces behave under small perturbations, in some topological sense.

Undervisning

At the basic level, I teach mathematics courses such as Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Linear Algebra and Cryptography. At intermediate (master's) and advanced (doctorate) levels, I have experience teaching subjects such as Topology, Algebraic Topology, Differential Topology and Singularities of Analytical Spaces.

My native language is Portuguese, but I also speak Spanish, English and a little Swedish.
