The course starts with an introductury lecture on Sunday, March 31, at Campus Östersund, Sweden (information about hours and lecture hall will be available in the schedule posted four weeks before the course starts). Four weeks before the beginning of the course you will get access to your schedule www.miun.se/schemasok. Please note that the timetable may be updated until the beginning of the course and even after that if something unforeseen happens.
Before you can begin your studies, there are three things you need to do
1. Get a login for the student portal (Swedish: Studentportalen)
If you are an international student and admitted to a campus-based program, you will receive your User ID upon arrival at Mid Sweden University. All international students who are admitted to a distance education program, will receive their User ID by email approximately one week before course start.
This is your most important tool during your studies at Mid Sweden University. Here, you will find information about courses, study material etc. This is also where you register for each course. All of this can be found at www.miun.se/admitted.
If you have studied at Mid Sweden University before, you will keep the same student login and user id.
2. Read through the current course syllabus
In the course syllabus, there is information about the course literature and other important things about the course for both teachers and students.
3. Register for the course
You must register for all of the courses you want to take during the semester. https://www.miun.se/en/student/. You can register no earlier than 2 workdays before the beginning of the course. It is important that you register for each course. It is important that you register for each course.
This course is mainly conducted through the online learning platform - Moodle. It is important that you start exploring the course room on the platform and get familiar with it as soon as you get access. When you enter the room, please read through the syllabus and the study guide carefully.
Except for the physical meeting at the beginning of the course (March 31), all communication will take place in the course room. You are expected to demonstrate active participation, in English. Students with no activity (i.e., who have not participated in mandatory sessions and tasks) in the beginning of the course (31 March - 14 April) will be excluded from the course.

In order to borrow at Mid Sweden University you need a library account. You get a library account when you activate your student portal login, register to a course and approve of the library lending rules.
