Save favourite 22 Jan January 2018

We suggest these activities for those who want to spend an extra day or two in our region. More can be found at Visit Östersund.

Jamtli Historieland

An outdoor museum with interactive historical depictions as well as other activities. The parks annual midsummer celebration, which takes place just a few days after the conference, is a tradition not to be missed.

Moose Garden

Located about 15 minutes outside of Östersund, this place allows you to get up close with the famed king of the forest – the Moose!

Njarka Sami Camp

A visit here offers an insight to the traditions of arctic scandinavias indigenous people.

Swedens main mountain resort, located about an hour from Östersund. While the village is obviously most famous for its skiing slopes Åre offers a great deal of activities during the summer. Those include downhill biking, hiking, fishing and just enjoying the spectacular scenery. If travelling to Åre, be sure to take the short detour for a sustainable meal at the Natural cycle house.
