Our task – my role as a government employee
Web-based training regarding the role of a government employee at a higher education institution.
As an employee of a Swedish higher education institution, you are a government employee. This means that you have a special responsibility towards the general public, and also that certain laws and regulations affect your everyday life.
This education focuses on what it is that makes your place of work different from others, and is intended as an aid to make you feel secure in your role as a government employee. Areas that the training covers:
- Funding
- The core values
- Rules regarding examination, employment categories and recruitment, as well as organisation and decision-making arrangements
- Trust and efficiency, sideline activities, bribes and conflicts of interest
- Core values in practice
- Transparency and protection, the principle of open access to information, the General Data Protection Regulation
- Documents
The things you do and the decisions you make each day affect not only yourself but all of us –other government employees as well as the general public.
The better we are as government employees at meeting the basic requirements considered in this training course, the better conditions we will all have for being able to freely carry out our assignments. The training course has been developed in collaboration between Uppsala University, the University of Gothenburg and Lund University.
