Schedule
ARC21 will be implemented in two steps. Here are the key points.
In the autumn of 2021, an evaluation of the research will be carried out at Mid Sweden University's research center. The evaluation includes subject research within these centers. In the spring of 2022, an evaluation of all other subject research will be carried out. Postgraduate education is also evaluated during this period.
The schedule below is preliminary and the faculties themselves have the opportunity to adjust the schedule.

March 2021
· UoA compiles self-assessment.
April 2021
· Internal peer review on self-assessments.
· Revisions of self-assessments.
June 2021
· Evaluation documents are compiled and sent to expert panels.
September/October 2021
· Site visits by expert panels.
· Writing interim reports on each UoA.
December 2021
· Reports of part 1 at the Management Council.

UoA part 2
January-May 2022
· The process for recruiting external experts begins.
May-June 2022
· Basis for indicators is produced within the administration (can only be completed after the financial statements).
· Supplementary information is produced by UoA.
October-November 2022
· Internal peer review on self-assessments.
· Revisions of self-assessments.
December 2022
· Evaluation documents are compiled and sent to expert panels.
Week 13 2023
· Site visits by expert panels.
May 26 2023
· Deadline reports from expert panels.
August-September 2023
· Reporting part 2 at the Management Council.

Measures implemented in 2020
· The Vice-Chancellor decided on research evaluation and establishment of a working group.
· Proposals for an action plan, including a preliminary budget, was presented by the working group.
· Units of assessment were established by the faculties.
· The action plan was discussed in the faculty committees and fed back to the Research Council, after which it was decided by the Vice-Chancellor.
· The working group produced proposals for evaluation dimensions and evaluation data. The proposal were submitted for consultation after discussion in the Research Council.
· A communication plan was produced.
· The Research Council decided on evaluation dimensions, indicators and evaluation data.
· UoA was grouped into areas (Research Fields) for assessment by expert panels.
